We are excited to announce a diverse set of In-person summer programs providing unique enrichment opportunities for Philadelphia students of all ages! 

  • PYN WorkReady programs are back in 2021! Learn and earn with Sunrise’s Early and Intermediate program tracks and explore different career paths and educational opportunities!
     
  • Sign up for the School District of Philadelphia's Summer Academic programming! As an OST partner, Sunrise staff will augment the city's academic programming with fun and engaging afterschool activities!

WorkReady Programs - 2021

Learn and Earn with Sunrise’s Work Ready programs this summer!

We are excited to announce the return of WorkReady Programming for youth from 12-24 years old!

  • These programs provide diverse career exploration, direct work experience, and professional development opportunities for students during hands on programming and worksite placements 5 days a week!
     
  • Youth are eligible to earn up to $9 per hour up to $1080 (for direct work experience) or $595 (career exploration) throughout the 6 week program.
     
  •  Programming will take place in-person 5 days a week at the following locations:
    • Southwark School

    • Chester A. Arthur School

      Philadelphia, PA 1914

Pending completion of your enrollment form, Sunrise will reach out with instructions on how to complete the required forms and a full list of the vital documents needed. We will also share a secure Google folder for you to upload all forms and documents for review and approval.

District Wide Summer Programming -  With Supplemental Summer OST***
(From the Philadelphia School District and the Office of Children and Families)

Programming takes place daily | Monday - Friday
8:30am - 4:30pm

This summer, Sunrise OST providers will be working in partnership with the Philadelphia School District to supplement city wide summer academic initiatives. To explore all the options available for district students, visit the PSD website below:
District Wide Summer Programming Options 
  • The district’s summer programs will follow a summer school model designed to combat learning loss during summer vacation, provide extended academic support, and create opportunities for youth to connect with peers and mentors!
     
  • As an OST partner, Sunrise will be working directly within the City’s Summer programs to supplement academic initiatives with engaging enrichment activities and socio-emotional learning curriculum!
     
  • Sunrise staff will be on hand each day providing youth with supplemental academic support and enrichment programs throughout the day. Each Friday throughout the 6-week program will be lead exclusively by OST providers and will consist of fun and engaging extracurricular activities.
     
  • Any k-12 student currently in a Philadelphia District school is eligible for the districts public programming.
     
  • Final learning locations are still to be determined. As of now, programming is set to take place 5 days a week in-person at several local schools around the district.
     
  • PROGRAMMING IS FREE FOR ALL FAMILIES!

FOR K-8 STUDENTS: 
Instructional programming will be offered Monday - Thursday from 8:30 - 12:45p. Extracurricular activities, art, and athletics will be offered daily from 1-4p by Sunrise of Philadelphia, and from 8:30-4p on Fridays. 
FOR 8-12th GRADE STUDENTS:
Programming will be either in-person, digital, or hybrid and run from June 28 – August 30. These include both academic and high school bridge programs as well as paid internships and enrichment opportunities through district partners.

*** Please note - As a summer OST partner, Sunrise programming is fully integrated into the Philadelphia School District's summer programming. As such, Sunrise is not guaranteed to be the OST provider at your assigned PSD location.
